On Aug 12, the National Energy Administration released electricity consumption data for July. In July, the country's electricity consumption reached 607.2 billion kilowatt-hours, up 9.9 percent year on year. By industry, the power consumption of the primary industry is 14.5 billion KWH, up 9.8% year-on-year. Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 436.3 billion KWH, up 9.8%; The tertiary sector used 84 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 13.1%; Electricity consumption for urban and rural residents reached 72.4 billion kilowatt hours, up 7.6 percent.
From January to July, the total electricity consumption of the whole society reached 3,557.8 billion KWH, up by 6.9% year-on-year. By industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry is 65.5 billion KWH, up by 7.7% year-on-year. Electricity consumption of the secondary industry reached 2,591.7 billion kilowatt-hours, up 6.7%. Electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 489.3 billion KWH, up 9.9%; Electricity consumption for urban and rural residents reached 471.3 billion kilowatt-hours, up 4.9%.
