The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has compiled a guideline for implementing green Manufacturing projects (2016-2020), which will serve as a starting point for organizing and implementing green manufacturing projects, comprehensively promoting green manufacturing and striving to take the lead in achieving the green development goal of "Made in China 2025", Mo Wei, general office director of the MIIT, said recently. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will fully promote green manufacturing and accelerate the construction of an efficient, clean, low-carbon and circular green manufacturing system.

We will build a green manufacturing service platform, rely on the "One Belt And One Road" to promote cooperation in the green manufacturing industry, implement the "go global" project for energy conservation and environmental protection industries, promote the construction of green manufacturing demonstration projects in countries and regions along the belt and road, and strengthen international cooperation in green and low-carbon technologies, equipment, and industries.
Not long ago, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Green Manufacturing 2016 Special Action Plan (hereinafter referred to as the Plan) around the Implementation Guide for Green Manufacturing Projects (2016-2020). The plan makes it clear that the cleaner production level of some industries will be further improved this year. It is estimated that 80,000 tons of chemical oxygen demand and 70,000 tons of ammonia nitrogen will be reduced throughout 2016, and a number of advanced water-saving technologies will be selected and promoted. We will build a number of major demonstration projects and bases for comprehensive utilization of resources, and initially form a new mechanism for regional coordinated development of industries for comprehensive utilization of resources in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas. Pilot demonstration of green manufacturing was launched, and implementation plans or green factory standards for some industries were released.
