2015 electric power reliability index press conference was held in Beijing

On June 12, National Energy Administration and China Electricity Council jointly held a press conference on 2015 electricity reliability index in Beijing. The meeting released the 2014 annual power reliability index, reported the work of power reliability management, reviewed and summarized the development course of the national power reliability in the past 30 years.
Main information of 2014 electric power reliability index
In 2014, the weighted average equivalent availability coefficient of conventional thermal power generating units (excluding combustion turbine units, the same as below) of 100,000 kw or above was 91.96%, 0.12 percentage points lower than that of 2013. The average annual utilization hour of thermal power units was 4,900.26 hours, 337.8 hours less than that of 2013. In 2014, a total of 786 unplanned shutdowns occurred for conventional thermal power units, with the total time of unplanned shutdowns being 61,099.74 hours. The average annual number of unplanned shutdowns was 0.48 and 33.00 hours respectively, 0.06 and 0.5 hours less than that of 2013.
The first three types of non-planned shutdown, namely forced shutdown, occurred 721 times with a total time of 44,838.14 hours, accounting for 73.39% of the total time of all non-planned shutdown of thermal power. The average annual forced shutdown was 0.44 times and 25.50 hours, respectively.
In 2014, the annual average standby hour of conventional thermal power units in China was 1,321.65 hours, an increase of 319.53 hours compared with 2013, and the standby hour of units in all regions was over 1,000 hours, which is rare in recent years. The increase in the standby hour of units in 2014 indicates a decrease in power supply and economic growth.
In 2014, participated in reliability statistical evaluation of 60 1000MW thermal power units, all of which were coal-fired units, 17 more than that in 2013. In 2014, the equivalent availability coefficient was 90.91%, which was 1.12 higher than that in 2013
