Overall electricity consumption rose 6.7 percent in October from a year earlier
The National Energy Administration released data on Electricity consumption in October on Jan 16.
In October, China's electricity consumption reached 548.1 billion kilowatt-hours, up 6.7 percent year on year. By industry, the primary industry USES 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, up 9.8% year-on-year. The power consumption of the secondary industry reached 385 billion kilowatt-hours, up 6.2% year on year. Electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 82.2 billion KWH, up 8.8% year-on-year. Electricity consumption for urban and rural residents reached 75 billion kilowatt-hours, up 7.1% year on year.
From January to October, the total electricity consumption of the whole society reached 5,565.2 billion KWH, up 8.7% year-on-year. By industry, the power consumption of the primary industry is 61.5 billion KWH, up 9.8% year-on-year. Electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 3,857.5 billion KWH, up 7.2% year on year. Electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 907.8 billion KWH, up 13.1% year-on-year; The electricity consumption of urban and rural residents reached 828.5 billion kilowatt-hours, up 11.1 percent year on year.
