On August 14, the energy supply situation in July released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed that the overall situation was stable, and electric power production continued to grow rapidly. Solar power generation grew 10.9 percent year on year, 10.2 percentage points lower than last month.
In July, the national average temperature was 1℃ higher than that of the normal period, and Gansu, Hubei, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong and other places experienced frequent extreme high temperatures. Under the influence of strong industrial demand and continuous high temperature, power generation has been rising rapidly. In July, power generation reached 640.2 billion KWH, up 5.7% from a year earlier. Average daily power generation reached 20.65 billion KWH, 2.15 billion KWH more than the previous month and a record high. In the first seven months of this year, power generation grew 7.8 percent year on year, 1.0 percentage points faster than the same period last year.
Among them, the growth rate of thermal power has dropped. In July, thermal power grew by 4.3 percent year on year, 2.0 percentage points lower than the previous month.
The growth rate of hydropower has accelerated significantly. The national average rainfall in July was 133.8 millimeters, 18.9 percent more than the same month last year. The inflow of water into many land areas increased, and the growth rate of hydropower increased by 6.0 percent year-on-year, 2.3 percentage points faster than that of the previous month.
New energy generation varies. In July, wind power growth accelerated, while nuclear and solar power growth slowed. Among them, due to better wind conditions in major wind power areas, the growth rate of wind power was 13.3 percentage points higher than that of last month, up 24.7% year on year. Due to the maintenance of nuclear power units in the same period last month, the growth rate was relatively high, which dropped by 5.1 percentage points this month, up 14.2% year on year. Solar power generation grew 10.9 percent year on year, 10.2 percentage points lower than last month.
