China's photovoltaic industry grew 30 percent year-on-year in the first half of the year, data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed today. At the same time, product prices are rising steadily, business operations are generally improving, the top four domestic polysilicon enterprises have achieved full production, the top 10 component enterprises have achieved an average gross profit margin of over 15%, and the average net profit margin of 29 component enterprises listed in the specification announcement list of photovoltaic manufacturing industry has increased by 6.5 percentage points year on year.
Qian Jing, vice President of Jinkosolar, said the data reflected the running trend of the industry. He introduced that jinko in the second quarter of 2013, the first in the industry to turn a profit, and then improve quarter by quarter, 2013, 2014 annual gross margin of more than 20 percent.
The improvement of business conditions of enterprises is based on the continuous and steady growth of industrial scale. In the first half of the year, China's polysilicon output reached 74,000 tons, up 15.6% year on year. Silicon wafers produced 4.5 billion, up slightly from a year earlier; The output of battery modules was 19.6GW (1 GW), up 26.4% year on year. The export of major photovoltaic products such as silicon wafers, batteries and modules is 7.7 billion US dollars. According to preliminary statistics, the total output value of China's photovoltaic manufacturing industry exceeded 200 billion yuan in the first half of the year.
At the same time, the domestic and foreign markets continue to develop. The number of grid-connected photovoltaic installations in China has increased by 7.73GW, and the cumulative installed capacity has reached 35.7GW. Chinese enterprises are accelerating the expansion of emerging markets in Asia, Africa and Latin America and developing overseas factories. According to incomplete statistics, 800MW batteries and 1.5gw modules have been built for overseas production capacity, and 3.2GW and 3GW are under construction and expansion. The share of exports to Europe and the United States has dropped to about 30 percent, and the impact of the "two-way trade" between Europe and the United States has been further reduced.
In addition, the level of key technologies and processes in the photovoltaic industry continues to improve, and the investment in photovoltaic manufacturing per unit capacity continues to decline. The average production energy consumption of polysilicon continues to decline, and the average conversion efficiency of single crystal and polycrystalline cells in backbone enterprises has been improved
